If
one offers with a sincere heart, one will receive Zambala's
blessings. One then accumulates causes for happiness of gods
and men, obtains good fortune, transforming failure to success
and gets uncountable benefits. |
Zambala is the Possessor of Merits.
There are two forms of merits:
Worldly & Transcendental.
Material gains are the Worldly Merits; spiritual insights
are the Transcendental Merits. To possess
both forms of merits is considered COMPLETE. This is the
only way to accomplish countless deeds. Zambala is also sometimes
considered as a Deity of great miraculous power.
1
Worldly = Material gains 2
Transcendental
= Spiritual insights
In this period of deterioration,
people strive for selfish aims, gaining at the expense of others
and insatiably lusting for more.
Even
though sometimes one's possessions may be bountiful, they are,
nevertheless, mostly obtained through improper means, violating
morals and conscience. If
"fortunate", one may enjoy fame for a while. Otherwise,
one may become a prisoner, suffering without a chance to enjoy
things one has obtained. Such a bottomless fall is one's own
doing.
It is not worthwhile to have such
self-delusion. When one accumulates little merit in past lives,
one is unable to accomplish much in this life. When one has
sacrificed so much and yet gained so little, indeed it is unbearable.
Instead of thinking about one's own limited merits, one continues
to harm and exploit others. Hence, the downfall. To blame others
would not help but would instead be the cause of more worries.
The compassion Buddha, in wanting
to eliminate sentient beings' sufferings and to benefit them,
has taught many methods for accumulating merits.
The
first of the 6 Perfections - the
Perfection of Generosity - can be considered supreme.
There are 3 types of Generosity:
1
Material Giving 2
Dharma Giving
3 Fearlessness
Giving
Giving
is directed towards 2 main Objects:
1
the
Enlightened Objects - Buddhas and Boddisattavas 2
Dharma Giving
If one can hold the Boddhisattava
as one's motivation in heart as one practises Giving, one will
then accumulate merits for Wisdom and Means simultaneously.
This aids us along our path towards Enlightenment. Benefiting
oneself and others at the same time, why then should we not
practice the Perfection of Generosity?
In
the Chapter of the Commonality of Doors, in the Lotus Sutra, it
is quoted, if it is appropriate for beings to be benefited via:
1
the
form of Vaishravana (the main form of Zambara)
2Avalokiteshvara
(or Chenresig in Tibetian) will hence manifest in the form of
Vaishravana.
|
All
the myriad forms of Zambalas manifest themselves to save
sentient beings mainly from the suffering of poverty. The
Buddha has in fact taught many Zambala practices.
These
many Zambala Deities have vowed before the Buddha to liberate
all sentient beings and to protect the Dharma. Offering
to the Zambala Deities is synonymous to offering to Avalokiteshvara
(or Chenresign in Tibetan) .
If
one offers with a sincere heart, one will receive Zambala's
blessings. One then accumulates causes for happiness of
gods and men, obtains good fortune, transforming failure
to success and gets uncountable benefits.
