who
His Holiness's father, the late Sangdan Rongchen.
His mother, Sherao-tsho.

what
A baby was borned with special marks like rare tiger skin patterns to his waist, resembling a monk's robe... and a mole resembling an elephant's eye on his leg. The auspiscious occurances at the baby’s birth symbolises that he would bring the light of the tantric teachings to the human realm of this samsaric world.

The baby was none other than the 84th supreme Head of the Nyingma Kathok Tradition H.H. Lhoga Rinpoche (Tulku).

15 days after the birth of His Holiness, Tulku Gensang Padje Nima prophesied that His Holiness is the Wish-fulfilling Gem of the Dharma and that He would burst forth in absolute brilliance in all directions in the future, bringing great benefits to all sentient beings.

At the same time, this Great Master strongly blessed H.H. Lhoga Rinpoche and gave Him Refuge and Initiations. His Holiness is also bestowed the name of Lodro Tenpay Gyaltshen.

Recognition & Enthronement of His Holiness

His Holiness was recognised at the age of 2 by Kathok Situ Rinpoche on the plains of the Gu Long Region of Kham. There was a perfect match of the names of the parents and the physical features of the child to that of the instructions given by the Dharma Protectors. Moreover, the child was able to recognise correctly the various personal objects belonging to his previous incarnation.

The recognition of His Holiness was also confirmed by Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodro Rinpoche.

As a result of these unmistakable signs, the child was confirmed as being the reincarnation of the late Khenchen Lekshek Choden of Kathok Monastery.

When Khenchen Jamyang Gyaltsen met Him, it was like the coming together of father and son. The child immediately held the hands of Khyentse Jamyang Gyaltsen, then packed his clothings by himself and wanted to leave with Khyentse Rinpoche.

At the age of 3, H.H. Lhoga Rinpoche was invited to return to Kathok Monastery. He was enthroned as the 2nd Khenchen Lekshek Choden Rinpoche at a grand enthronment ceremony.
